WOR — World On Record ("WOR," "we," "us") is operated by Ineova. This policy explains what data we collect when you use worldonrecord.com, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that data. If you have questions, use the feedback form on our About page.
1. DATA WE COLLECT
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the platform. Specifically:
- Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter via the form on this site. Collected and stored by Netlify Forms.
- Feedback and suggestions — if you submit content via the About page feedback form. Collected and stored by Netlify Forms.
- Standard server logs— IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Collected automatically by Netlify's hosting infrastructure.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- To send you the WOR weekly conflict intelligence briefing (if subscribed)
- To review and respond to feedback and bias reports submitted via the feedback form
- To diagnose site errors and maintain platform reliability
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. DATA STORAGE AND PROCESSORS
Your data is processed and stored by the following sub-processors:
- Netlify, Inc. — hosting, form submissions, and server logs. Netlify is GDPR-compliant and certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS. Cloudflare processes connection data to deliver the site globally.
4. COOKIES
WOR does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Netlify may set functional cookies for form submission security (CSRF protection). These cookies are strictly necessary for the forms to function correctly and do not track you across sites.
5. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access the data we hold about you
- Right to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to withdraw consent for email communications at any time
- Right to data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the feedback form on the About page. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
To unsubscribe from the newsletter, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any briefing email.
6. DATA RETENTION
Email addresses collected via newsletter signup are retained until you unsubscribe. Feedback form submissions are retained for up to 12 months for review and quality purposes. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.
7. CONFLICT DATA
WOR aggregates conflict intelligence from public data sources including ACLED, GDELT, UNHCR, UN OCHA, and open news feeds. This data is factual reporting and does not constitute personal data under GDPR. All data is attributed to its source.
WOR forecasts are probabilistic estimates based on historical patterns and current data. They are not guarantees of future events.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date.
